Billionaire Ty Warner gives woman $20,000 for her cause after asking her for directions | The Sideshow - Yahoo! News → news.yahoo.com

A woman who helped a lost man ended up with a surprise $20,000 gift.

That’s what happened last month when Jennifer Vasilakos guided Ty Warner when he stopped and asked for driving directions in Santa Barbara, Calif.

While Warner didn’t know exactly how to get to where he was going, Vasilakos didn’t realize who she was helping.

Warner is the billionaire founder of Ty Inc., the Beanie Baby company.

The Seven Stages of Feminist Grief (Todd Akin edition)

SHOCK: What the fuck did he just say?

DENIAL: No, that can’t be right.

ANGER: Fucking ‘legitimate’?!

BARGAINING: Maybe he’s high?

GUILT: It’s my own fault for checking Twitter.

DEPRESSION: FML, people are defending him.

ACCEPTANCE: Whatever. On to the next sexist asshole.

Attitude of Gratitude

Today I am grateful for:

1) Friends who come to your defense

2) Being open to new possibilties

3) Having just enough spare change in my pocket to help a guy on the train get dinner tonight…

“I would love to be able to show a different image of a Christian … [Many people] think that — and unfortunately it’s well deserved — Christians are about separating and dividing, and less about accepting and including. I would like viewers to see that with all this diversity in the tribe that I genuinely am interested in and care about people and who they are, where they are.” - Lisa Whelchel” —‘Survivor: Philippines’ Lisa Whelchel: ‘Facts of Life’s’ Blair Says, ‘I Wasn’t Recruited…I’m a Survivor Superfan!’ - Zap2it

Attitude of Gratitude

Today I am grateful for:

1) My parents for words of encouragement, excitement in my new endeavors, and a feeling of pride that I am not longer going for the fun job but really thinking about my future.

2) My sense of humor.  Today a friend marveled in how I can come up with the right quip at the right time.

3) Meeting my neighbors.  When I first moved to my neighborhood I wasn’t that thrilled about it but now I love it.  I know my neighbors.  We stop, we chat, we support.  It feels like home more than ever.

Attitude of Gratitude

Today I am grateful for:

1) Great weather. You don’t really appreciate the perfect day until it arrives and usually bemoan it when it’s long gone. I will take what Mother Nature provided and be thankful when the next one arrives.

2) Conversation. To really enjoy this lost art requires you to close your mouth, open your ears, and process what is said. I love conversation and what I can learn from others.

3) Learning. I always want to learn something new every day.  Today I applied to go back to school to learn something new. And that makes me very excited.

Subway's Facebook Page Spammed With Hilariously Censored Anime Porn → hypervocal.com

Facebook’s photo system lets you tag anybody — people, places, corporate entities — in pictures you upload. It’s a service that’s practically begging to be exploited, but no one has tapped its potential — or no company has been negligent enough to ignore it.

On Wednesday morning, a slew of anime porn pics has appeared onSubway’s photo page, tagged by accounts devoted to softcore anime porn.

Attitude of Gratitude

Today I am grateful for:

1) The ability to inspire change in others through my actions.

2) Finding commonality with people who come from completely different backgrounds which only reinforces that as much as we ant to declare our differences, we’re really all the same.

3) Pleasant surprises where preconceived notions are dismissed and you’re left more impressed
