This is your Wednesday Worthy musical post and today I am sharing my dirty little secret. This is the UK’s Claire Martin. I worship at this woman’s feet. She came out the same year as Diana Krall (who wound up taking all the reviews) while Claire was somehow left in the dust. Her voice is a very dry martini…like pouring gin in one room and going to enough to whisper the word “vermouth.” I have loved her since I first heard her in 1995. Enjoy…
I find this sad because 1) I really liked her and 2) she was probably one of the least known but most powerful senators in DC. And I already see one of her quotes here as something I will post tomorrow….because it’s oh so true and so needed to be said by someone so respected. Senator Snowe, I tip my Democrat hat to your Republican tenure. You will be missed.
You gotta love it when Brian Williams gets his slow jam freak on….these never seem to fall flat….spot on every time!
It’s been so long since I have heard this song and Collette’s powerful voice. I love this acoustic version because it really highlights her voice and the plaintive wail that comes out of her strikes such a nerve. Love this song. It truly is one of my favorites that came out of the original edible red experience and i think she has taken to a new level.
Just a word of warning….be careful what you put on Facebook. You too could become the face of a 55 gallon tub of water based lube!
Five months after the military’s ban on openly gay service expired, a photo of a young gay Marine’s homecoming kiss has gone viral.
Nearly 15,000 people have liked the picture on Facebook, whichwas posted in a group for gay Marines on Saturday.
The Marine, Brandon Morgan, posted a response on his Facebook wall according to the JoeMyGod blog. ”To everyone who has responded in a positive way. My partner and I want to say thank you. Dalan, the giant in the photo, can’t believe how many shares and likes we have gotten on this. We didn’t do this to get famous,or something like that we did this cause after 3 deployments and four years knowing each other, we finally told each other how we felt,” Morgan wrote.
He responded to “haters” who criticized him for kissing in uniform. “If the Sergeants Major, Captains, Majors, and Colonels around us didn’t care…then why do you care what these random people have to say?”
In December, two female naval petty officers became the first same-sex couple to share the traditional first kiss on the pier when the ship returned from an 80-day deployment.
Monday morning musical musing….can’t listen to this song without thinking of sex…..pay attention to the lyrics if you haven’t before and you will understand why….
